Three Weeks Today!

We are three weeks old today and oh my... getting SO CUTE!! Very pretty spotting all around and good trim on eyes and and most noses already. Here are a few whelping box photos... head shots to come later today.

Pups and Momma Merica are doing well. They are very strong and gaining weight.

Okay... a bit too tired to get this entered last night and eyes were too fuzzy so just wanted to confirm colors before I put it up. Still tired, but the daylight helps. : )

Puppies are Here!

Merica delivered the first boy pup at 6 p.m. and finished with the patch boy at 10:30 p.m. She took her time inbetween the first and second boy... just to make me fret... but then sped things up considerably after that. There are seven pups and I believe she is finished. I am letting the pups nurse and letting her clean and clean to her hearts content before I make her go outside to potty, when I can palpitate to make sure there is not another pup still to go. Merica is a great mom and pups are very strong and vigorous! Good job Merica and Eagle! Merica pulled a fast one and had another puppy after midnight! There are EIGHT puppies...5 boys and 3 girls!

Puppies Soon....

Merica's temperature drop was yesterday around 5:30 p.m. She was restless on and off all night, but still wanting to sleep in my bed with me. This morning she decided her furniture of choice was the big overstuffed chair in the living room. By late morning she took up residence in the whelping box (all her idea). No puppies yet, but she has been nesting on and off and resting on and off.

Puppies Due...

The Merica x Eagle (Meragle) puppies are due on April 23, 2010. As the time gets nearer we will update this blog regularly. Merica will be 5 weeks along this Friday. We do believe she is PG as she is getting chubby and has a voratious appetite... even more than normal. : ) Check back for updates or click to follow this blog for updates.
